Many of you have sent us e-mail asking about the exact ingredients to a simple recipe that our resident dietician, Elizabeth Kelsey, mentioned during her "Second Helpings" segment from episode #5 - "Dietary Fiber: Bulking Up On Taste."

Instructions
- Combine and blend the 3 ingredients thoroughly. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
- Take one tablespoon before bed whenever you experience occasional irregularity. If more is needed you may slowly increase the amount to no more than 4 tablespoons.
- The flax will absorb the liquid as it sits, so don't be surprised when the contents turns to a semi-gelatin state. Don't worry. The recipe still works.
Recipe Notes
Prune juice contains Prunus, which is a natural laxative.
Flax is a superb source of both soluble and insoluble fiber, which bulks the stool.
Applesauce contains Pectin, which is a soluble fiber. This helps retain water in the stool.
IMPORTANT: There are many causes for constipation, so make sure you consult your doctor if the condition persists.
