Instructions
  1. Inspect all the dry ingredients with an eye towards comparable texture. None should be larger than grains of sand. The paprika and mustard powder will already be ground fine. The garlic powder may be fine or granular. The dehydrated onion and orange peel will likely be too coarse and need to be ground or crushed, which is easily done. Also, the same with the dried oregano and thyme. If it is in small dried leaf form, rub it between your palms to pulverize. This also opens up the flavor. And finally, if your cumin and coriander is in whole seed form, it must be ground in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
  2. Once everything is relatively uniform is texture, combine and blend all the spices and herbs. Use immediately, or package in an airtight container for later use.
Recipe Notes

This simple, antioxidant-rich, immensely aromatic dry spice rub contains zero salt and zero sugar, yet imparts an extraordinary amount of flavor to barbecued beef, pork, chicken, fish or even roasted vegetables!
